50th Anniversary of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships – Loughborough University

On 4th September 2025, I attended the 50th Anniversary of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) event held at Loughborough University Stadium.

The event celebrated five decades of Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, highlighting how KTPs have helped bridge the gap between universities and industry, enabling innovation, skills development, and impactful real-world projects.

Event details

  • Date: 4th September 2025
  • Time: 8:45 am – 12:00 pm
  • Venue: Loughborough University Stadium

The programme included talks from KTP Associates, academic supervisors, company partners, and representatives from the wider KTP community.

Reflections as a KTP Associate

Being part of a KTP, this anniversary event was a chance to:

  • Reflect on how KTP projects support innovation and problem-solving in industry
  • Hear success stories from other Associates and partner organisations
  • Connect with people working across different sectors but united by the KTP model

It reinforced the value of combining academic research, practical engineering, and industry insight to deliver solutions that make a tangible difference.

A special milestone

Loughborough University – KTP 50th Anniversary

This day at Loughborough University Stadium was a memorable milestone in my KTP journey and a reminder of the broader community of people working to make knowledge transfer meaningful and effective.
