I had the opportunity to visit Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation (BMRC) and be part of the MoU signing with Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology (NMIT).
This visit and MoU marked an important step towards collaboration between academia and the metro industry, creating space for joint projects, student engagement, and research activities in the area of intelligent transport systems.
Visit to BMRC
During the visit, we:
- Discussed how data, analytics, and intelligent systems can support metro planning and operations
- Explored opportunities for student projects, internships, and collaborative research
- Understood BMRC’s priorities around safety, reliability, and passenger experience
MoU signing at NMIT
The MoU signing at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology formalised this collaboration, opening avenues for:
- Joint work on research and development related to metro systems
- Knowledge sharing between faculty, students, and industry experts
- Creating an ecosystem that connects classroom learning with real-world metro challenges

This moment captures the spirit of the collaboration and the shared commitment to improving public transport through research, innovation, and education.
