Intelligent CPS Data Analytics Platform for a Metro Rail Transport System

A DST-funded integrated analytics framework for urban mobility

This project proposed and developed the Intelligent CPS Data Analytics Platform for a Metro Rail Transport System, tailored for metro rail operations and passenger analytics.

The platform integrates multiple data sources to enable deeper understanding of passenger behavior and system performance.

Key Contributions

Research Significance

This work laid the foundation for later transport analytics projects by establishing a system-level approach rather than isolated analysis.

Implementation & Deployment

The platform was successfully tested and deployed within Kochi Metro Rail as part of this research initiative. Key achievements include:

Funding & Support

This work was carried out under Research Project DST/ICPS/CPS-Individual/2018/1091(G), funded by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India, for Kochi Metro Rail Limited. The research was guided by Fr. Dr. Jaison Paul Mulerikkal CMI.

Platform Capabilities

The analytics platform is designed to:

The ultimate objective is to help metro authorities understand and respond to passenger demand, thereby improving service quality and rider experience.
